The seed set of the metabolic network of Buchnera aphidicola was previously published in
Borenstein et al. (2008) (supporting information),
and in this example, we present an interactive version of this network (only the giant component of the network is shown).
As an obligate endosymbiont, B.aphidicola provides the aphid (the host) with essential amino acids and in return relies on the aphid for other nutrients.
The seed set of the Buchnera network is in agreement with these observations.
